With over twenty years of professional experience in the theater, Chris Donovan is a budding stage director based in New York City with credits from NYC theaters as well as College Theatre programs.
Recent theatrical directing credits include: Trust by Steven Dietz at the Hankin Performing Arts Center Peter and the Starcatcher at the Post Theatre Company, Gi60 International One Minute Play Festival at The Tank NYC (Associate Producer, Director), Passage by Christopher Chen at the Hankin Performing Arts Center, and Sweat by Lynn Nottage at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro as both the Fight Director and the role of Stan. Other directing credits include: The Devils Mischief, A Stye of the Eye, and Cleo at Western Connecticut State University, King John at the Producers Club II, and Twelfth Night at Todo 45 NYC.
As an actor, Chris has appeared in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (National Tour), Hairspray (White Plains Performing Arts Center), Jersey Boys (Winnipesaukee Playhouse), Mamma Mia (Plaza Theatrical), Damn Yankees (River Rep), Midnight Clear (Riverside Theater), Shakespeare in Space (Mint Theater), Cymbeline (Brick Theater), Delilah (Midtown Festival), Pride & Prejudice (Theatre for a New City), and MacBeth (Edinburgh Fringe/Judith Anderson Theatre NYC).
Chris holds degrees in acting, musical theatre, and directing from Western Connecticut State University, Circle in the Square Theatre School, CUNY Brooklyn College, and Roosevelt University at The Chicago College of the Performing Arts. Chris is a member of SAG/AFTRA, SAFD, and is on the theatre faculty at LIU Post, CUNY City College & SUNY Westchester.
